We've reached the final stretch of the school year and it's officially the last month of the school year! As we count down these remaining weeks, it's a perfect time to pause and celebrate all that your child has accomplished.
And speaking of celebration, next week is Teacher Appreciation Week! Please join us in thanking our amazing teachers for their hard work and dedication throughout the year. They play such a huge role in your child's growth, and this is a small way for us to show our gratitude.
I'm highlighting the school year's end and Teacher Appreciation Week together because they both invite us to think about growth. Just like a book has chapters, so does a school year. Your child has turned the pages, faced challenges, and learned new things. That growth might look different for everyone. Some students might have made huge leaps in their grades, while others might have developed stronger friendships or discovered a new talent. All of these achievements are important!
As the author Carol Buchman said, "The greatest gifts you can give your children are the roots of responsibility and the wings of independence." This school year has been about giving your children both those roots and wings. They've learned to be responsible for their schoolwork and behavior, and they've gained more independence as they've grown and matured.
We encourage you to take some time at home to talk with your child about their journey this year. Ask them:
What are you most proud of?
What was the biggest challenge you overcame?
What's one thing you learned that you'll always remember?
These conversations can help them recognize their own progress and build confidence as they prepare for the next chapter.
